If you’ve been following us on our social media or seen the recent press we’ve had online with the Telegraph, at Antiques News & Fairs and Antique Collecting Magazine, you’ll know we are doing our bit to help dealers and small businesses stay visible during these unprecedented times – see our recent blog for full details of how to get a 'shout out' and a listing in our directory. This is open to all, whether you've been a customer of ours or not. We’re seeing some wonderful support, acts of kindness and great ideas to help keep trade functioning: Drew Pritchard sharing dealer details and offering advice with his #SalvageSundays on Instagram and Twitter, Charles Hanson of Hanson’s Auctioneers hosting a fundraising auction from his garden shed to raise money to the NHS (a whopping 36k was raised) and the Virtual Vintage Fair on Instagram which is showcasing 30 fantastic dealers, and many others. It's been very heart-warming to see everyone pull-together.
With the ability to reach in excess of 35k plus people, we have so far used our social media to share the profiles of over 100 dealers, which have then been added to our constantly growing Covid-19 Support Dealer Directory (see below). This will be regularly added to, so please take a look and check back in for updates - it includes some great dealers who are continuing to trade against the odds.

A Word on Old and New Social Networking
Well before the birth of the internet the trade was run by old school on-the-ground social networking; visiting fairs, word-of-mouth, recommendation and on a ‘who knows who’ basis. Nothing has fundamentally changed here, however the ease in which trade can socially network online means word can be spread quicker, bringing about constant visibility. The old and the new tools we have for social networking work excellently together, but, right now, without fairs to trade at, the new is invaluable. If you’re not online, now is the time to get yourself online!
