11th July 2018
Now in its fifth year, the Loseley Park Decorative Home & Salvage Show is only two days away, and we can’t wait. Not only are we having the hottest run of weather in decades, but the exhibitor list for this week’s show is raising temperatures - its' hot hot hot! Alongside a whole host of regulars, we are welcoming around 20 hand-selected dealers who will be exhibiting with us for the first time; the mix of salvage, reclamation, industrial, brocante, decorative antiques, vintage homewares and gardenalia on offer is making this, our only show in the south, an unmissable event.
At the end of last summer we launched our first Best Dressed Stand Awards at the Ripley show and awarded three well deserved prizes to Brocante Decorative (1st), Tallboy Interiors (2nd) and Shakespeare’s Vintage (3rd) – you can read about it here. It was a great way to end yet another wonderful summer of salvage. This year, we’ve decided to spread some mid-summer love and offer up the opportunity to our Loseley exhibitors. We have a fabulous judge lined up; Chris Myers from The Cozy Club is a passionate homemaker, salvage hunter, maker, event organiser and author whose beautiful home has appeared in magazines such as Country Living and Homes & Antiques. She has a wonderful eye for style and has been entrusted to select our three winners.
We will also be running a themed Instagram scavenger hunt which will be judged by Guildford based interior stylist (regular contributor to Country Homes & Interiors, Country Living and Homes & Antiques) and author of 7 best-selling books Selina Lake. Her wonderful books echo the style we see and love at the shows; titles include Bazaar Style, Romantic Style, Homespun Style, Pretty Pastel Style, Outdoor Living, Winter Living and Botanical Style. Inspired by Selina’s love of pastel shades and the colours of the famous Loseley Dairy Ice Cream (which will be available at the show) the scavenger hunt theme will be ‘Pretty Pastels’.
To enter, simply post your favourite images/scenes of pretty pastels (flowers, paintings, textiles, chippy paint cupboards, enamelware etc.) from the show using the hashtag #asfairs and #prettypastels in your caption and tag us in your post @asfairs. Don’t forget to geotag your post too so others can find the event. Judging will take place by Selina Lake after the event (week beginning 16th July) and a hand-selected prize from the show will be posted to the winner. Keep an eye on our Instagram feed for details.
The event is fully catered with teas, coffees, cakes, light snacks, lunches, ice cream and a licensed bar, plus there are plenty of tables, chairs and straw bales to sit at. The layout is such that there is plenty of space for all (families, pushchairs, dogs etc.) so why not make a day of it.
We look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be three fantastic days of independent home and garden shopping.
